Tragic moment, plane crashes into a parked car

One lucky pilot escaped unscathed after his light plane crashed into a car at a recreational club moments after takeoff.

The pilot, 28, took off from Bankstownairport, Sydney (Australia), shortly before 11:30 am on Saturday 19 November and landed immediately after in the parking lot of the Bankstown Trotting Recreational Club

The plane lost power and began to plunge toward the ground about four minutes after takeoff.

CCTV footage from the recreational club's CCTV captured the moment the plane slid onto the grass off the runway hitting a black Mazda CX-5.

Terrible crash
Bankstown Airport, Syndey (Australia). It's the morning of Saturday, November 19th. At 11.30 a light aircraft takes off from the runway. But something goes wrong. The plane loses power and lands in the parking lot of the Bankstown Trotting Recreational Club crashing into a black Mazda CX-5.

Pilot unharmed
The pilot was miraculously unharmed. The 28-year-old man managed to get out of the plane that fortunately did not catch fire and was found on his knees in a state of shock.

The story
The pilot stated that the plane's engine stopped when it was about 100 meters above the ground. Five people were evacuated from the parking lot after the incident as firefighters rushed to the scene to repair a small fuel leak.

Ongoing investigations
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau is gathering information and deciding whether to conduct a full-scale investigation into the incident. Sydney Aviators, the owner of the plane, declined to comment on the matter.
